  1. How will the referrer list be automatically written to my page?
    A - How it works:
    1) You place a little button on your page (the tracker), that will send the data to our server and track the referrers .
    2) You also place some JavaScript where you want the referrers to be shown (Auto top referrer list). And the appropriate Javascript gets read from our server and displayed on your site.
    3) And that's it.

  2. Does the list update automatically?
A - Yes, at 5am Central Time (CST, CDT) every day.

  3. Can I place my tracker in a table?
A - Yeah the code works fine in a table.

  4. Can I keep my design while using the Top Referrer Links Javascript?
A - Yeah sure. Just place the individual link code where you would normally type in your link.

  5. Where can I check my stats now?
A - Login and click on 'Show Top Referrer Stats'

  6. Does your service add together hits from different pages located at the same domain?
    e.g
    http://www.domain.com/index.html
    http://www.domain.com/exit.htm
A - Yeah. It cuts off the file name and adds them together.

  7. Does your service add together hits from different directories located at the same domain?
    e.g
    http://www.domain.com/dir/index.html
    http://www.domain.com/exit.htm
A - Yeah. Make sure to enter as the Return URL the longer url. ie: the first link above.

  8. Does your service add together hits from the same site, but with 2 domains?
    e.g
    http://www.domain.com/index.html
    http://domain.dhs.org
A - Yeah. Make sure to Add both sites info. Make sure they both have the same title and URL. (Must be exactly the same)

  9. Is it possible to have the stats update every hour?
    A - No.

  10. Can I list more than just the initial 10 referrers?

    A -
Yes, go to your options page and set however many referrers you need to display.

  11. Is it possible to include blind thumbs that correspond to the referrers in the list?
e.g. rank 1 gets thumb 1 and so on
    A - Yes
For example, this is a thumb for your number 10 referrer:

    <a href='http://www.trackyourstats.com/cgibin/tys-toprefout.php?acc=YourAccountNumber&ref=10' TARGET='_blank'>
    <IMG src='thumbnails/thumb10.jpg' border='0'>
    </A>

acc is your account number for the site you are sending hits from and ref is the referrer you want to send your hits to. If you log in to your TrackYourStats account and scroll down you will see a link to a page that generates this code for you and you can copy and paste it into your site (look for the "Blind Links" link in the Linking Codes section).

  12. This question may sound weird. Is it possible that the hits I send to other sites are not shown as www.mydomain.com but as trackyourstats.com because the javascript which creates the table is still located on your server?
A - Good question. Absolutely not. Because the Javascript text is on your site. They are just like any other link on your site. It will show your site as the referrer.

  13. How can I ban hits from sites I don't want to show up?
    eg: http://www.searchengine.com
A - You just need to ban the domain, eg: searchengine.com You can ban specific words, like if you don't want Warez sites linking to you, you can ban the word warez (assuming that's in their domain name).

  14. How do I display the links for every site that I've entered information for?
A - Login and click on 'List Links' and copy the links into your html file.

  15. How do you offer this service for free?
A - A small percentage of the time when a surfer clicks on a link, it will go to our sponsor page.

  16. May I resize your tracker image to 0x0?
A - No, you cannot resize the image at all, this is in violation of the terms so your account will be removed!

  17. Is there advertising when I use thumbnails?
A - Yes, a small percentage of the time when a surfer clicks on a thumbnail, it will go to our sponsor page.

  18. If I change the URL of my site, will the counter still work?
A - Yes, the counter will still work. You don't need to change any information at TrackYourStats.com It will just automatically work with your new URL.

  19. Why does my referrer link come up as undefined?
A - You need to edit your options and set 'List Top' to a bigger number. Set it to the number of top referrers you want to show on your site. Then recalculate your stats and everything should be fine.

  20. Can I have more than one account?
A - Yes. You can have as many accounts as you have sites. Just fill out the sign up form for each site.

  21. Can I have more than one account per site?
A - No. You can only have 1 account per site.

  22. I had http://www.trackyourstats.com/cgibin in my top referrer stats and banned the domain. If other people who use TrackYourStats send me hits, will they still be counted?
A - Yes hits from other sites using TrackYourStats will still get counted. The reason you probably got hits from "http://www.trackyourstats.com/cgibin" is because other webmasters probably clicked on your site when they were viewing their stats when they were logged in. But there is absolutely no problem trading traffic with other sites using TrackYourStats.
